Position Summary

Interior Health (IH) is looking for a Director of Allied Health Services for the IH Central region. This region includes the North, Central, and South Okanagan areas of the B.C. interior.

We have recently established a new, exciting, and innovative portfolio that supports allied health services across the three geographic areas of Interior Health (IH East, IH West, and IH Central), each area led by a Director of Allied Health. This new model offers opportunities for standardization, innovation, and professional support that has the potential to place IH at the leading edge of Allied Health services nation-wide. The professional disciplines and positions included in this portfolio are audiologists, audiometric technicians, clinical dietitians, dental hygienists, dental assistants, music therapists, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists, physiotherapists, psychologists, neuropsychologists, recreation therapists, rehabilitation assistants, respiratory therapists, social workers, speech language pathologists, and testing technicians.

As the Director of Allied Health you will plan, coordinate, implement, evaluate, and monitor allied health services and strategic initiatives across the geographical region. In consultation with the IH Regional Director of Allied Health, area administrators, site/program managers, physician leaders, and other stakeholders this position will lead tactical planning for the geographic area by developing goals, objectives, standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with IH strategic objectives, provincial regulations, and Ministry of Health priorities.

You will work collaboratively with your IH Allied Health Director colleagues as well as with the front-line operational supervisors to ensure that allied health services within the area are operating with optimal efficiency and effectiveness. In this position you will provide recommendations and advice to clinical and medical leaders throughout the area regarding allied health services. Furthermore, you will be an active participant on the Allied Health Leadership Team.
