Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking a dynamic Nurse Practitioner (NP). This is a permanent part time (0.80 FTE) opportunity to join the NP team in Alexis Creek, B.C. This is a four days per week position and the schedule is flexible to meet the needs of the community.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides primary health care services to individuals and families residing in the First Nations’ communities representing the Tsilhqot’in Nation. The majority of the Tsilhqot’in Nation communities are geographically located within 200 km west of Williams Lake with one 70 km to the North. Clinic work is shared between two Nurse Practitioners to ensure adequate family services are being provided.

This position is based out of Alexis Creek. Travel from community to community will be required. Between the two NPs in the area, the First Nation communities that are served include: Anaham, Redstone, Stone, Nemiah, Alexandria and Toosey. This position focuses on providing care in (Alexis Creek, Anaham, Toosey & Redstone). This position works to the full scope of the NP role and includes a Mental Health and Substance Abuse component. The NP may be required to do some health fairs, education and teaching.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

• Current registration and exam qualified as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP)
• Successful completion of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
• Recent, relevant clinical nursing experience
