Position Summary

We are currently seeking a casual Long-term Care Nurse, Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at the Columbia House in Invermere, B.C.

The RN or RPN practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the RN or RPN ensures the delivery of resident–centered care by assisting individual residents and their families respond to changing health care needs. The RN or RPN demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Columbia House, located in Invermere, embodies a resident-centered philosophy designed to support individual choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. This facility is a single story building adjoining the acute care hospital. It has 35 long-term care beds, two of which are dedicated to respite/short stay.

Shift types are days and nights and shift times are from 06:45 to 18:45, 18:45 to 06:45 hours.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
• Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.
