Position Summary

We are looking for a new team member to join our Nuclear Medicine team at Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH). VJH is in the Okanagan health service area and responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to patients throughout its service area.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with departmental policies. Duties include preparing patients for examination, operating nuclear medicine equipment, monitoring patient during procedures, preparing, dispensing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing routine quality control tests on imaging equipment, monitoring area utilizing appropriate detection devices and disposing of radioactive substances and contaminated items by following established guidelines.

The Nuclear Medicine department operates Monday to Friday from 0645 – 1600, 07:30 to 15:30, and 08:00 to 16:00. The department handles approximately 4000 procedures per year and uses the SPECT & SPECT-CT cameras.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).

Current certification with CAMRT.
