Position Summary

If you are a strong communicator and problem solver, then we have a rewarding Licensing Officer position for you!

The principle function of the Licensing Officer is the responsibility to administer the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and Regulations necessary to ensure the protection of vulnerable and dependent individuals in community care facilities. This responsibility extends to all programs and facilities that are defined as a Community Care Facility in the Act.

 Licensing practice is a balance of compliance management and support.
 Licensing is a continual process of monitoring, consultation, investigation and support. Licensing is the foundation for non-regulatory quality enhancement initiatives.

This position practices within their respective code of ethics of the employee’s respective professional affiliation and the code of ethics set out by the Guide to Licensing in British Columbia.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Vernon with frequent travel within the local area required. Days of work are Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a health related discipline or diploma in Early Childhood Education; and two (2) years recent, related experience which includes experience in child development and education; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current valid BC Driver’s License.
