Position Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is an extremely valuable member of the patient care team involved in supporting and managing patients with respiratory related health problems. Royal Inland Hospital is seeking to build upon its Casual pool of RTs. Casual employment means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from zero to 37.5 hours per week.

• Demonstrates continuous improvement and best practice approach in respiratory practice Maintains and advances own clinical competence
• Participates on committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned Royal Inland Hospital’s Respiratory Therapy Department is a diverse team of knowledgeable therapists.

We are seeking new team members for casual work. Casual work consists of scheduled blocks of shifts throughout the hospital’s acute care wards on a continual basis. The casual RT will work within Royal Inland Hospital’s Emergency/Trauma Department, ICU, NICU, Medical/Surgical wards, Pulmonary Diagnostics, Bronchoscopy Lab and/or HART team. This position also provides internal and/or external patient transports, and provides patient education. There is also opportunity to work in Community Care, Home Oxygen Program and Rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current certification with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and eligible for registration with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and CSRT.
