Position Summary

Located in the Okanagan or Kamloops area the Network Director, Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) is an important member of the Clinical Operations Leadership team, reporting to the Executive Director, North Okanagan and East Kootenay for the planning and evaluation of high-quality MHSU Services. The Network Director provides leadership and direction to the development, implementation, and assessment of strategies, program/service objectives, and operations that support patient-focused seamless care that is integrated across primary, acute, and long-term care services.

Decisions made by the Network Director impact the work of other leaders in IH and provincially. The Director provides strategic counsel to senior leaders and, in turn, influences the goals, objectives, policies, service delivery models, and resource allocation within Interior Health (IH) and the province. The Director provides leadership to an extensive team of decision-makers and operation leaders across the Health Authority and provincially. The Director is also responsible for making decisions that impact multiple physician and other stakeholders working within and external to the Health Authority. The Director must leverage exceptional relationship-building skills and find innovative ways to communicate and build consensus with diverse groups regarding complex issues.
 
Qualifications

• A Master’s degree and demonstrated achievement of competence and mastery as a result of extensive experience and/or study in a health-related field or Business Administration
• Ten years of management experience, including program leadership experience in a complex healthcare environment
