Position Summary

We are currently looking for a casual MHSU Alcohol and Drug Worker to join the Kelowna Mental Health and Substance Use team based out of the Community Health & Services Centre.

This position is working in the Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) Program, working with an inter-disciplinary team supporting clients on suboxone, methadone and other medications. Focus is on assessment, harm reduction, and providing psychosocial interventions to people with opioid use disorders. You will provide counselling, outreach work, case management services, and connect your clients with other services and housing. You will work in a rich learning environment dealing with complicated clients with concurrent mental health and substance use disorders that will challenge your counselling skills.

Shifts of work are rotating days 08:30 to 16:30, 12:00 to 20:00 and 10:00 to 16:30.

Bachelor degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position

Two years recent related experience in an alcohol and drug treatment environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
