Position Summary

We are looking for a patient focused team player to fill a casual pediatric nursing opportunity at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail.

We support ongoing cross training between maternity, peds and nursery as we are a combined unit. Our recently renovated pediatric unit serves the Kootenay Boundary region and provides inpatient care and outpatient support for children up to and including 17 years of age. The inpatient area is supported by 7 pediatric beds which also support med/surg overflow.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).

One year recent related acute pediatric nursing experience on a unit similar in size and scope to the facility, with knowledge of physiology and psychology of children aged newborn to 17 years or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

New nursing grads must have completed their final preceptorship on a pediatric inpatient unit. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.
