Position Summary

The Physician Compensation Department in Kelowna, BC is looking for a Permanent Full Time Physician Compensation Assistant to join their team! Apply today!

• A current Typing Test 45 wpm or greater completed within past 48 months from a recognized institution, (ON-LINE TESTS NOT ACCEPTED);
• Completion of a recognized Accounting Course;
• Your Resume indicating three year’s recent related experience, Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
• A Cover Letter stating your availability to start in a new position and on-call, casual work (i.e. days of the week);
• Certificates/Diplomas/Transcripts must be from accredited Schools/Colleges/Universities.

This position performs confidential administrative and accounting support as it relates to physician compensation such as:
• Evaluates physician compensation invoices/reports;
• Performs bi-weekly and/or recurring transaction processing of physician compensation invoices/reports;
• Reviews funding reports from Ministry of Health, interprets data provided, and extracts corresponding information from files;
• Submits regular standardized reports to Ministry of Health and other stakeholders;
• Communicates, reports and liaises regarding provincial programs with other Interior Health staff, Ministry of Health staff, physicians and physician groups;
• Attends a variety of meetings to record, prepare agenda, minutes/reports and distribute;
• Prepares plans for re-allocation of budgeted sessional funding;
• Processes payments to physicians and submits necessary documentation to Ministry agencies for related recovery of funds and tracking of recoveries;
• Prepares complex reconciliations of recoveries to General Ledger accounts and accounts receivables;
• Prepares accounting accruals by reconciling payments made year-to-date to timing of financial statements;
• Answers general queries from various stakeholders related to payments, policies and other physician compensation matters.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 16:00 hours

Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 12,
• Completion of a recognized accounting course,
• Three year’s recent related experience, Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Completion of a Typing Test 45 wpm or greater, dated within the past 48 months and must be issued from a valid institution only. (ON-LINE TESTS NOT ACCEPTED)
