Position Summary

Castlegar District Hospital is looking for a Casual Stores Attendant (Shipper/Receiver/Top Up) / Cleaner to join their team! - if you have graduated from Grade 12, and have one year's recent related experience....Apply today!

The hours for this position are: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday: 07:00 - 14:10 as a Cleaner, 14:10-15:10 as a Store Attendant. Wednesday and Friday: 07:00 - 10:40 as a Cleaner, and 10:40 - 15:10 as a Stores Attendant.

As a Stores Attendant you will perform a variety of Logistic duties such as filling orders for all Departments and stocking shelves. You will also performs receiving duties, such as unpacking, checking, distributing and/or transporting articles.

Typical Duties Include:

• Fills requisition requests from all Departments. Loads the orders (assembles goods if required) onto carts for delivery;
• Rotates stock and keeps the inventory shelves in a clean and tidy order;
• Receives, unpacks and checks incoming materials, ensuring that goods are delivered as per the purchase order;
• Receives, delivers and unpacks pharmacy supplies;
• Packs, ships goods for return to vendors;
• Completes paper work associated with work performed, including matching documents such as invoices, packing slips, and purchase requisitions;
• Assigns/records cost centers using department and account codes to invoices for submission to accounts payable;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.


As a Cleaner, you will perform a variety of duties within a Housekeeping Operation such as:

• Maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in areas such as patient rooms, washrooms, corridors, hallways, and common areas;
• Cleans areas including floors, stairways, walls, windows and ceilings by sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, spot washing and wet washing;
• Cleans and disinfects washrooms;
• Strips and makes beds;
• Picks up soiled laundry and linens;
• Cleans Nursing area and isolation rooms including washing of furniture;
• Cleans upholstered furniture and carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, and brushing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 12,
• 1 year’s recent related experience
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

• Ability to operate related equipment.
