Position Summary

We are seeking a Coordinator to support the standardization, stabilization and optimization of our Home Support Scheduling across the Interior Health region. This exciting position offers a flexible work location within our Interior Health region and runs until March 31, 2022.

Details of the role:

The Coordinator, Home Support Scheduling is responsible for:
• Providing coordination and subject area knowledge to plan, monitor and evaluate assigned Home Support Scheduling services across the health authority that support patient-focused seamless care that is integrated across services.
• Working in collaboration with clinical leads; coordinating the direction; ensuring alignment across all Scheduling Hubs and organizational priorities; and guiding the provision of safe, effective, and quality patient-focused care.
• Supporting the planning, implementation (including identifying resource implications) and evaluating initiatives for Home Support Scheduling.
• Providing guideance to Clinical Operations and, in turn, influences the Home Support goals, objectives, policies, service delivery models, and resource allocation within Interior Health.
• Leveraging relationship-building skills and demonstrating innovative ways to communicate and build consensus within diverse groups on Home Support scheduling matters.
• Recommends and implements quality improvements that will ensure effective and efficient standardized operations and maintains statistical and various operational reports.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports a collaborative process and coordinates with Clinical Operations the centralized client scheduling that provide clients with home support services across health authority. This includes exploring and developing potential approaches, standards, and work plans; ensuring deliverables are on time/task/budget and aligned with priorities; liaising and building relationships; and working with diverse stakeholders, including content area experts, professionals, medical and operational leads both locally and regionally.
• Supports and coordinates innovative quality improvement initiatives that inform the continuous development of evidence-based, best practice clinical services across the health authority. Activities include coordinating the design, implementation, management, and monitoring of electronic surveillance tools.
• Continuously improves, standardizes, eliminates inefficiencies, and adds value from the perspective of the client, family, the clinician, and the schedulers. Supports program/scheduling evaluation and monitoring outcomes for key initiatives and investments.
• Supports staff through training, orientation, guidance and implementation of effective standardized processes and guidelines.
• Serves as liaison and collaborates with stakeholders from across health authority and community in order to address client scheduling service concerns and to recommend and implement solutions.
• Develops, compiles, coordinates, analyzes and monitors various operational and informational reports related to home support scheduling. Provides quality-related and other statistics. Prepares related reports on a continual and ad hoc basis.
• Conducts audits related to the scheduling of home health services information, data quality and system processes/practices. Reviews scheduling information requirements for the centralized service; analyzes and evaluates audit findings and develops recommendations to Home Support Transformation on data quality and system process improvements.
• Audits work of designated staff related to the client scheduling of home health services.
• Participates in various meetings related to the centralized scheduling service; assists and/or undertakes a variety of projects as assigned by the Director, Home Support Transformation.
• Works in conjunction with IMIT to ensure the quality and integrity of Home Support scheduling data is maintained and is integrated with other systems appropriately, and assists with the development of appropriate tools for newly developed processes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications

• Diploma in health services administration or related field.
• 3 to 5 years experience relevant to the duties of the position (management, scheduling).
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
