Position Summary

Are you an experienced pediatric nurse? Do you thrive in a team environment and excel in your nursing practice? If so, we have a career opportunity for you within our team here at Penticton Regional Hospital.

Our Pediatric Unit consists of 11 beds that are a mix of pediatrics and low acuity medical patients. We handle all pediatric outpatient procedures including interventional treatments, medication infusions and diagnostics with sedation. Our Outpatient Pediatric services further include an arthritis clinic, cardiology outreach clinic, oncology and synergis vaccinations. The Pediatric inpatients often include surgical cases such as orthopedics, appendectomies, tonsillectomies, pediatric respiratory and gastrointestinal ilnnesses, new diabetics and child/youth mental health.

Penticton Regional Hospital serves a large geographical area stretching from Summerland to Osoyoos and across to Princeton. The city of Penticton is located in BC’s scenic south central region in the Okanagan Valley. Days of work are rotating and shifts are 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

One year recent related acute pediatric nursing experience on a unit similar in size and scope to the facility preferred, with knowledge of physiology and psychology of children aged 0 to 16 years or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
