Position Summary

As the Advanced Care Attendance you will assist nursing staff by conducting initial and secondary assessments to prioritize treatment, monitor patient care needs, and perform a variety of psychomotor skills (such as intravenous starts) as per clinical competencies and in accordance with Interior Health policies and procedures. You will also prepare and escort patients to the appropriate treatment/diagnostic areas and assist in other departments of the facility as assigned.

This is a casual opportunity meaning hours are not guaranteed and may vary between 0 and 37.5 hrs per week. (Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part time or full time positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual on-call positions and lead to regular employment.)

Education, Training and Experience
• Graduate of an accredited program in direct patient care including eligibility for licensure in applicable professional registering body and one (1) year experience within a health care or ambulance services environment including experience related to emergency procedures and protocols; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preference given to paramedics licensed in British Columbia at the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) level.
• Valid C level CPR certificate.
• Current valid BC Driver’s License.
